Anne and Denis will be coming to the school later in November to begin their first part of their One Per Cent project which was awarded to them last May.
These photos show the stage of demolition of what was formerly known as the green tiled corridor.
The wing was built in 1944 and housed the study hall (later the canteen) on the ground floor, classrooms on the 1st floor, bedrooms on the 2nd floor, bedrooms and a dormitory on the 3rd floor and bedrooms and top dorm on the 4th floor. A basement floor to the rear housed the football changing rooms nd the woodwork rooms. The building is being demolished into itself and will eventually be levelled off with the car park area. It will then play host to volley ball and soccer hard courts.
Congratulations to Peter Watson, St Patrick’s College, Cavan, who has been chosen by the State Examination Commission to apply for the National Olympiads. Peter was chosen because he received one of the highest results in the country in both his maths and science Junior Certificate exam. He is pictured here with his maths teacher, Ms Kerri Flood and his science teacher Mr Shane Fitzpatrick.
