Explore New Horizons with Transition Year
Transition Year at St Patrick's College
Work Experience
Work experience is an important part of student development and provides valuable insight into the world of work.
How the process works:
-
It is the student’s responsibility to secure their own work placement.
-
Once a placement is confirmed, students must complete the Work Experience Form below.
-
Submitting this form will automatically generate an email to the company or business offering the placement.
-
The employer is then required to complete a short form included in the email.
-
Once this is submitted, the employer will automatically receive a copy of the school’s insurance cover.
Important notes:
-
We strongly recommend that students begin looking early for placements for all blocks, as opportunities fill up quickly.
-
If your son is over the age of 16 and working with children or vulnerable people, Garda Vetting would be required.
This is processed through the school. A Garda Vetting form can be collected from Ms Fitzmaurice or accessed via the Teams page.
