SUCCESS FOR STUDENTS AT THE FLEADH CHEOIL 2026
St Patrick’s College Cavan had a great number of students from 1st – 6th year who had fantastic success at county, provincial and All Ireland levels in the Fleadh Cheoil . From solo and group competitions to concert performances these students had a busy summer and made great contributions to their local Comhaltas branches. Congratulations to the lads on the many accolades they were awarded.

Lorcan Lynch
Lorcan won first place in both dance and airs in the County fleadh, 2nd in trio and duet. He got first place in both dance and airs in Ulster and second place in trio. He took second place in slow airs in the All Ireland fleadh ! ______________________________________________________________________________________________
Tom Creegan
County fleadh 1st place 12-15 button accordion and melodeon, 15-18 céilí band and Grúpa Cheoil
Ulster fleadh 1st place 12-15 melodeon

He won the U18 county and Ulster titles in the Button Accordion. He also played in the Music Generation concert at the All Ireland Fleadh in Belfast. _____________________________________________________________________________________________
Senán Lynch
Senán won silver in the 15-18 banjo competition in the Cavan fleadh. He also was part of the winning grúpa ceol and Céilí band in the Cavan fleadh _____________________________________________________________________________________________
Killian Leddy
Killian was part of 12-15 céilí dancing group that placed 2nd in the All Ireland in Belfast. _____________________________________________________________________________________________
Caolán Briody
Caolán Briody got recommended to go through to ulster for U15 bodhran, and came 1st place with his Grúpa Cheoil in the Cavan county Fleadh _____________________________________________________________________________________________
James Gormley
James competed in the whistle and Accordion at the Cavan Fleadh. He performed at the All-Ireland Fleadh on the gig rig with the Big band from Cavan /Monaghan music generation. (absent from photo) ____________________________________________________________________________________________
Shane Fitzpatrick
Member of Grupa Ceoil with Belturbet CCÉ 1st place
3rd place in solo banjo county fleadh
Both results qualified him to compete in the Ulster Fleadh ______________________________________________________________________________________________
Cian Hanley
1st Year student Cían was part of the Cavan grúpa ceoil which was placed 2nd in the County Fleadh this year. (Absent from photo)

Darragh McGrath
1st Year Darragh was part of the Belturbet U15 Grúpa Cheoil which made it through to the Ulster fleadh. (absent from photo) ______________________________________________________________________________________________
Noah Traynor
Noah played Banjo and Mandolin as part of Annagh Grúpa Cheoil CCÉ Belturbet that placed second in the U15 competition in Cavan County Fleadh and so went on to compete in Ulster.

Michael Mulfaul
Michael got through to the Leinster fleadh on the flute, whistle and saxophone in the miscellaneous competition. He was also in the winning Grúpa Cheoil and Céilí band in the Cavan Fleadh

Finn Mulfaul
Finn got through to the Leinster Fleadh in whistle and piano accompaniment and played in the Céilí Band and Grúpa Cheoil in Cavan.
